REQUEST A PAPER COPY, AUDIO RECORDING OR TRANSCRIPT
To Request in Person
Copies can be provided in person for .10 cents per page ($1.50 extra for each certified document). Some documents may require you to show your photo ID in order to receive an un-redacted copy. Your situation will determine where you go to request your copies:
For a certified copy go to the Circuit Clerk’s office.
For a non-certified copy from a newer case go to the Circuit Clerk’s office.
For a non-certified copy from an older case go to the Archives building.*
*The Greene County Archives & Records Center is a division of the Greene County Clerk's Office, located at 1126 N Boonville Ave, Springfield, MO 65802, and only accepts cash.
To Request by Mail
Complete the Request for Record/Copy form, send it with a self-addressed stamped envelope, a copy of your photo ID, and a money order/cashier's check. Payments can also be made by debit/credit card over the phone. A third party convenience fee does apply if using a debit or credit card. You will be given a receipt at the time your payment is made. For each document, the copy fee is $3 for a non-certified copy and $5 for a certified copy. There is a postage charge of $1 if no self-addressed stamped envelope accompanies your request. Copies will be mailed approximately 5 business days after the receipt of the request.
To Request by Fax
Fax the Request for Record/Copy form and a copy of your photo ID. Let us know how you would like the copy sent to you. If you are seeking a copy from a Domestic or Civil case, fax to (417) 868-4883; if a Criminal or Traffic case, fax to (417) 868-4186.
You will be contacted by phone with payment instructions. For each document, the copy fee is $3 for a plain copy and $5 for a certified copy. A third party convenience fee does apply if using a debit or credit card. You will be given a receipt at the time your payment is made. There is a postage charge of $1 if you want your copies mailed to you.
You must request your copies through the State eFiling system. If you know exactly how many pages are in the documents you are requesting, you may pay a charge of 10 cents per page for a plain copy and an additional $1.50 for it to be certified. If you do not know how many pages you are requesting, the charge is $3 for a plain copy and $5 for a certified copy. If you would like for us to mail you your copies, please also provide $1 to cover the envelope and postage. Please allow up to 5 business days for processing. Additional fees may be added for extremely large copy orders.
Prepaid Copy/Fax Account
The Circuit Clerk's Office provides prepaid accounts for high volume requests. This service requires a $50 deposit and accounts must maintain a positive balance. You will need to complete an application which is found here.
AUDIO RECORDING AND TRANSCRIPT REQUESTS
Please note that not all cases will have an audio recording or transcript as this varies due to different case types. These requests require more time for process than paper copies. Processing times and cost will vary. Also, some case types require you to be a party to the case to be eligible to receive an audio recording or transcript. For more information please call the appropriate department from the numbers listed below.
Request forms may be filed in person, by mail or fax. If you are mailing or faxing be sure to include a copy of your photo ID. Payments may be made by money order/cashier;s check or by debit/credit card over the phone. A third party convenience fee does apply if using a debit/credit card. You will be give a receipt at the time of your payment.
CD’s are $30.00
Two Types of Transcripts:
1) Transcript of an audio recorded Associate Court or Domestic/Family Court hearing or case: Our office has to send these requests to Jefferson City, MO for processing. Payment will be due prior to request being sent.
2) Circuit Court Transcripts prepared by the Court Reporter: These requests will be forwarded to the correct Court Reporter. The Court Reporter will let you know how long it will take to process your request and the cost of the transcript. The fees for the transcripts prepared by the Court Reporter are paid directly to the Court Reporter and not to the Clerk’s Office.
